Regus Philippines, a unit of London-listed Regus, is expanding its presence in the Philippines, venturing outside Metro Manila and into the urban centers of major provinces.
Country manager Lars Witig said in a briefing Friday Regus was moving into the provinces of Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro City, General Santos City, Naga, Bacolod, Iloilo, Clark, Subic and Baguio.
“In three years’ time, we’ll find out if these markets have matured. We have ongoing expansion in major urban markers like Cebu, for instance. And we’d like to go to Mindanao, of which the challenge being is that of security matters,” he said.
He said Mindanao had always been a “low-hanging fruit,” adding it would be easier to explore the market now that security efforts had been reinforced and the island had turned out to be more open than before.
Witig said the Philippine still had room for more virtual office space providers.
“We noticed that other players are placing their eggs in one basket, that is the BPO. For us, that is not the only way to go,” he said.
