Taiwanese Teco Group and Ropali motorcycle joint venture, Roteco, have launched their 2016 electric vehicles at Subic Bay Freeport. Guests include Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Chairman Roberto Garcia and Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino. The launch showcases the environment-friendly E-Jeepney & E-Trike, and also a brand new, easy to use smart payment and fleet management system created by ITTS called Intelligent Transportation Solution.
The new e-jeepney will be equipped with ITS for e-ticketing and GPS location tracking. ITS has the ability of smart payment and also GPS tracking in the control center to monitor the entire fleet operation, including Location, Time of Route, Speed, Power Consumption, Powertrain Conditions.
Data collected from fleet can be analyzed by historical events and be presented in a user-friendly and ease-to-use way for business decision making, for example carbon emission reduction estimation throughout the years.
Teco CEO George Lien said that one of the most outstanding abilities of the ITS is that the system calculates the distance of each passenger travelled and collects the fare from individual, an exact match of current “Public Utility Jeepney Fare Guide” from Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board. ITS also transmits real-time passenger information to the backend control center. This new e-ticketing provides efficient fare collection and also ensure passenger’s safety riding on the vehicle.
