Kapuso director Mark Reyes couldn’t be prouder and happier that The Half Sisters never fails to entertain and touch the lives of the audiences. The show continuous to deliver strong ratings performance in the Afternoon Prime block as it celebrated its first anniversary in June and it will now air until early January next year.
“By that time January hits, we’ll be one year and six months. Record breaker yun. Encantadia ran for a year, e. So ito yung pinakamahaba so far. Itong show na ito, mala-pusa na, e. We announced na we were ending, and then hindi pa pala. Siguro nakatatlong announcement kami na patapos na kami,” said Reyes.
He said avid viewers of the series should watch out for the finale because it will be very different and intriguing.
“Actually, we’re not yet allowed to announce the next story arc yet but it’s kind of edgy, controversial na you just have to watch it. It involves one of these two na or between them (Barbie Forteza and Thea Tolentino). And since we’re on our final stretch, I think we’re going to stick to the universe of the family and wrap things up na lang. I think ang panggulat niyan is the story, not another guest star or what. Yung story na manggugulat sa audience.”
He further shared there is no secret for the show’s continued success but he has to credit the talent and hard work of his powerhouse cast.
“Ang gagaling ng mga artista ko, maybe that’s the secret. Nag-gel sila right away. Festival of tears ang tawag ko sa show na to, e. From Jean Garcia to Barbie to Thea, walang tigil yan [sa pag-iyak].”
Meanwhile, viewers can expect more conflicts and plot twists to spice up the succeeding episodes of the series. Will Bradley’s condition get better or worse? What will happen to Diana and Bradley’s wedding?
Expect more revelations and twists as the drama continues in The Half Sisters weekdays after Eat Bulaga on GMA Afternoon Prime.
