Fashion brand COS releases a limited-edition capsule collection inspired by Californian photographer Chris Perani’s intricate macro photography that showcases the unseen beauty of natural structures.
The 24-piece collection spans womenswear, menswear, and accessories and will be available online and at the COS store in SM Aura Premier starting December.
Perani, based in San Rafael, California, captures the microscopic details of organic structures like butterfly wings and mineral textures through an advanced photographic process. Using a microscope lens and stacking 2,100 individual exposures, he creates vivid, multi-dimensional images that celebrate the hidden intricacies of nature.
The collection transforms Perani’s imagery into tactile designs. Highlights include a classic white shirt with a statement beaded applique inspired by butterfly wings and an elegant long-sleeved dress in double-faced wool knit, reimagined with prints that mimic natural fluidity. Deep, nature-inspired colors and digital prints elevate wardrobe staples, while denim separates feature subtle jacquard patterns reflecting delicate organic forms.
