Filipinas bequeath legacy of beauty, substance

Ten Filipino women who represent today’s ideals of refinement, style and substance were honored to be part of Tingting’s List: The Elegant Filipinas, a first-of-its-kind award that was handed out by Margarita “Tingting” Cojuangco, former politician, socio-civic leader and Filipina who has been acknowledged to be one of the most beautiful women of the world.

The accolade is considered to be the highest form of praise for the women on the list as they were recognized to be “bequeathing a legacy of refinement, beauty and sophistication while humbly creating a string of personal achievements for the betterment of womankind.”

The women honored with this distinction were media executive Tootsy Angara, businesswoman Ching Cruz, former Cebu governor and now congresswoman Gwendolyn Garcia, style maven and Ormoc, Leyte congresswoman Lucy Torres-Gomez, former dancer Zelda Kienle, Monaco honorary consul Fortune Ledesma, businesswoman Amparito Llamas-Lhuiller, designer Mandy de la Rama, designer-turned-painter Vicky Zubiri, and dedicated mother Cindy Yang.

The award was a unique occasion that realized the importance of beauty, both inside and out. Following the recognition of the honorees, they sashayed down the ramp in the design collections of designers Albert Andrada, Ronald Arnaldo, JC Buendia, and Rajo Laurel.
