The Philippine Navy held a Joint Change of Command Ceremony to officially induct Rear Adm. Joe Anthony Orbe as the new Commander of the Philippine Fleet, and Commo. Juario Marayag as the new Commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command (NSSC).
Flag Officer In Command Rear Adm. Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta, who led the ceremony, expressed confidence in Rear Adm. Orbe’s capability to uphold the Philippine Fleet’s role as a dependable guardian of the nation’s waters.
With a diverse background in commanding naval vessels and leading various naval forces, Orbe is expected to continue enhancing the Fleet’s operational strength, which is vital for safeguarding national sovereignty and essential sea lanes.
Commo. Marayag, recognized for his leadership in modernization projects that have improved the Navy’s aviation and anti-submarine capabilities, is responsible for ensuring that the NSSC maintains engineering excellence and innovation to keep the Navy’s ships and systems mission-ready.
Both leaders are anticipated to guide their respective commands in bolstering the Navy’s capabilities in defense and operational readiness.
