The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) promotes health-seeking behaviors among pregnant mothers through the First 1000 Days (F1KD) conditional cash grant.
4Ps National Program Manager, Director Gemma Gabuya said the F1KD conditional cash grant provides additional financial support under the 4Ps to assist households during the critical first 1,000 days of child development. The F1KD is expected to be implemented in 2025.
According to Gabuya, the conditions for the F1KD grant will adhere to the provisions outlined in Republic Act 11148, known as the Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act, as well as other health protocols established by the Department of Health (DOH).
The requirements include accessing pre-natal services at DOH-accredited health facilities, tracking pregnancy and receiving ante-natal care services, attending post-natal visits, participating in counseling sessions, and obtaining micronutrient supplements and immunizations, among other services.
Launched in 2008 and institutionalized in 2019 through Republic Act No. 11310, the 4Ps Act provides cash grants to more than 4 million households whose children are given subsidies to finish elementary and senior high school and supported with health and nutrition grants.
