Responsible gaming campaign aims to empower Filipino gamers

In order to give Filipino gamers the information and resources they need to make wise choices during their gaming sessions, DigiPlus Interactive Corporation, through its social development division, BingoPlus Foundation, has started the “Pusta de Peligro” campaign.

The initiative draws on the Filipino phrase “petsa de peligro” — commonly associated with the need for prudence before payday — as a metaphor for moments when gamers must practice caution and discipline.

The “Pusta de Peligro” campaign aligns DigiPlus Interactive with PAGCOR’s efforts to promote responsible gaming and playing with trusted operators. The initiative demonstrates a shared commitment to maintaining gaming as a safe and enjoyable activity. Anchored on a three-pronged approach—Prevention, Education, and Intervention—the campaign seeks to help players recognize risks, set limits, and access support when needed.

On Nov. 14, DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation hosted the hybrid talk show Tamang Laro, Tamang Panalo! Wais Tips for Pusta de Peligro Moments at their headquarters, with over 200 attendees on-site and online.

The event featured two sessions. In the “Tamang Laro” episode, licensed psychologist and Seagulls Flock Organization chairperson Teresita Cambe-Castillo discussed recognizing signs of excessive gaming and providing mental health support.

In the afternoon “Tamang Panalo” episode, financial expert Armand Bengco offered practical advice on managing money, building an entertainment fund, and spending responsibly.

The talk show underscores DigiPlus’s commitment, through BingoPlus Foundation, to go beyond raising awareness about responsible gaming. It aims to provide actionable tips, including financial literacy education and guidance on identifying and addressing excessive gaming habits.

“We’re committed to more than just delivering exciting digital entertainment. With ‘Pusta de Peligro,’ we’re taking responsibility to help players be mindful, enjoy responsibly, and stay financially aware,” said Rafael Jasper Vicencio, DigiPlus Interactive Director and President of AB Leisure Exponent and Total GameZone Xtreme, the operator of BingoPlus Stores.

Celeste Jovenir, COO of BingoPlus Foundation and DigiPlus Interactive Vice President, emphasized the initiative’s long-term vision: “‘Pusta de Peligro’ is just the beginning. We are committed to setting the bar as a responsible industry leader, helping Filipinos navigate gaming wisely for truly enjoyable and rewarding experiences.”

Continuing efforts

The Tamang Laro, Tamang Panalo! talk show builds on efforts DigiPlus and BingoPlus Foundation initiated in October. These included a series of videos promoting transparency in the company’s gaming operations, supplemented by educational content at the BingoPlus Day Masskara Festival Music Fest. The event reached 160,000 attendees and a nationwide live-stream audience, promoting responsible gaming habits.

The Pusta de Peligro campaign is part of BingoPlus Foundation’s GameSmart Program, which advocates responsible digitalization.

BingoPlus Foundation also focuses on programs related to Technology Education, Accessible Healthcare, and Community Resilience.
