The 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) achieves record-breaking success

The 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), concluded on a high note, drawing a record-breaking crowd of approximately 42,000 attendees throughout its four-day event from October 24-27 at the World Trade Center.

True to its theme, “Dare. Drive. The Future Redefined,” this year’s PIMS showcased the latest advancements in the automotive industry, brought together by 17 of the country’s premier automotive brands.

Special Guest of Honor at the Opening Ceremony was Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista, who addressed the transformative role of the automotive industry in sustainable transport solutions. His presence underscored the alignment between PIMS and the government’s initiatives to promote innovation in transportation and mobility.

A Platform for Innovation
The event highlighted a range of groundbreaking vehicles and innovations, unveiled across participating brands including its first-ever global premiere. Each brand showcased its commitment to sustainability, safety, and innovation tailored to the Filipino market, from cutting-edge electric vehicles to bold design concepts and intelligent driving systems.

BMW: BMW focused on high-end electric and performance models, such as the ultra-luxurious XM Label Red hybrid and the all-electric i5 M60 Touring. These vehicles cater to premium buyers interested in advanced performance and sustainable luxury.

Changan Auto: Changan Auto debuted the Hunter RE-EV, the world’s first Range-Extended Electric pickup suitable for outdoor adventures.

Chery:Chery officially launched The New 2025 Tiggo 2 Pro — a fun and delighful crossover SUV for the young. This facelifted version of the Tiggo 2 Pro boasts a dynamic and stylish design making it the ideal choice for those who prioritize the balance between performance and style.
Chery also gave a sneak preview of The New Tiggo 5x Pro. These new exciting offerings from Chery are expected to meet the needs of modern consumers and new generation of drivers.

Daewoo: Highlighted the Philippine-made Daewoo Bus BS106, alongside the CMANC’s Iconic Modern Jeepney and the K4000G with SmartBody. A World-Class Filipino Craftsmanship on the Road. CMANC delivered advance, practical vehicles built for Philippine needs.

Ford: Ford Philippines showcased the new Ford Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6, boosting its performance pickup portfolio in the country. The high-performance Ranger variant delivers 397PS max power and 583Nm max torque and is engineered by Ford Performance to handle the most rugged terrain, raising the bar in off-road driving. Ford also brought its best-selling Ranger, Everest, and Territory as well as its North-American built vehicles Bronco, Mustang and Explorer to its booth.

Foton: FOTON previewed the new Traveller Sierra Full Electric Van and the new Wonder Pickup, a compact pickup truck targeting small businesses. They also displayed camper-equipped versions of the recently launched Tunland V7 and V9 pickups, catering to the adventure-seeking crowd. The two new products are poised to enhance FOTON’s lineup of reliable, efficient, and accessible transportation solutions, crafted with the diverse and evolving mobility needs of the Filipino people in mind.

Honda: Honda has launched the New Civic RS e:HEV, its first electrified Civic in the Philippines, along with the CR-V V Turbo Limited Edition and the ultra-exclusive MUGEN Civic Type R Group. A, limited to just five units. Honda’s motorcycle division showcased the EM1 e: promoting accessible electric mobility, and the high-performance CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP superbike with MotoGP-inspired technology. To support flexible ownership, Honda also introduced its Leasing Program, offering budget-friendly financing options with comprehensive aftersales services.

Hyundai: The Hyundai Pavilion featured the hybrid variants of the SANTA FE and the TUCSON along with the STARGAZER X, STARIA, and the high-performance ELANTRA N. The brand also highlighted its robotics technology and showcased Spot, Hyundai’s friendly robot companion, marking its first appearance in the country. The Hyundai Pavilion displayed its diverse vehicle lineup — from SUVs, EVs, MPVs, and high-performance, strengthening its purpose to provide a Hyundai for every Filipino.

Isuzu: Isuzu made a mark with an electric N-Series truck for future logistics solutions, along with rugged D-Max options and a luxury mu-X Executive Edition with VIP seating. This range illustrates Isuzu’s balance between utility and elevated comfort.

Jetour: JETOUR Auto Philippines proudly introduced the newest additions to its renowned roster of vehicles, the JETOUR X50 subcompact SUV, and the latest variant of our first 4×4 SUV, the JETOUR T2 Terminator, outfitted with the Executive and Outdoor kits.

Kia: The EV9, Kia’s new fully electric full-sized SUV, took center stage, complemented by a striking display of the Sorento, Sonet, Seltos, Carnival, and EV6. With the EV9, Kia reaffirms its commitment to providing vehicles that inspire movement, enhance day-to-day experiences, and lead the way to a greener future. Kia continues to position itself at the forefront of electric mobility.

Mazda: After its soft launch early this year, Mazda Philippines is now officially an authorized distributor of AutoExe tuning parts and accessories. The launch of the AutoExe Customization Program for new and current Mazda owners exemplifies Mazda Philippines’ commitment to delivering a customer-centric approach to vehicle ownership. At PIMS, a wide range of parts have been fitted onto the Mazda3, CX-60, and MX-5. These parts are now available for order at any authorized Mazda dealership nationwide. Furthermore, Mazda Philippines will study to expand the availability of more parts and models soon.

MG: MG previewed its All-New MG HS PHEV alongside the British marque’s recently launched models namely the MG G50 Plus 7-Seater MPV, MG One compact crossover, MG 3 Hybrid + Hatchback, and the MG Cyberster EV roadster, showcasing the British Born, Global Brand’s commitment to offering Filipino customers a diverse range of vehicles, from traditional internal combustion engines to battery electric vehicles (BEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and now plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

Mitsubishi: Mitsubishi held its first-ever world premiere in the Philippines for the new seven-seater Mitsubishi DST Concept. Alongside the All-New XFORCE and All-New Triton, Mitsubishi also featured the All-New Triton Rally Car Replica, Montero Sport Black Series RALLIART and Xpander Cross Outdoor Edition which were all publicly displayed for the first time at the motor show.

Nissan: With Nissan’s new brand tagline “Always Daring” which embodies their commitment to pushing boundaries, they proudly proudly showcased its future lineup, X-trail e-Power, Magnite, the All-New Z NISMO, and a large SUV Concept. These models highlight Nissan’s wide range of innovations geared towards a variety of customers.

Suzuki: Suzuki unveiled the exclusive Jimny Rhino Edition, celebrating the iconic model’s rugged appeal, alongside the eVX, an electric concept vehicle designed for efficient and sustainable mobility. These vehicles reinforce Suzuki’s appeal among eco-conscious consumers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

Toyota: Committed to its “Beyond Zero” vision, Toyota showcased the bZ4X, the Kayoibako Concept, and various conversions of the Next Generation Tamaraw. The mobility company highlighted electrification, diversification and intelligence in providing mobility for all while working toward carbon neutrality. It also unveiled the New Camry and exhibited the operable hydrogen-fueled Corolla Cross H2 Concept, furthering its message of achieving zero emissions and adding value beyond it.

CAMPI’s Commitment to Community
In line with its mission to drive forward not just automotive excellence but also social responsibility, CAMPI is donating P500,000 to the Angat Buhay Foundation, extending aid to victims of Typhoon Kristine. “We believe in giving back to our community, especially during challenging times,” shared CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez.

“Through this donation, we hope to provide a helping hand to those impacted by Typhoon Kristine and to continue building a responsible and resilient community.”

The 2024 edition of PIMS proved to be the most vibrant yet, with attendees experiencing firsthand the latest in automotive technology and solutions. The event featured various interactive booths, vehicle displays, and immersive experiences, offering Filipinos a glimpse of the future of mobility. CAMPI also emphasized its vision of a sustainable automotive landscape, resonating with PIMS attendees and stakeholders alike.
