MPower, the local retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), signed a retail supply agreement with Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI) for two beverage manufacturing plants located in Muntinlupa City and Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

“We are eager to build a mutually empowering partnership with PCPPI. As committed allies in sustainability, we look forward to more impactful collaborations that will shape a better and brighter future for the communities that we serve,” MPower head RedelDomingo said.

MPower said that as part of the partnership, it invited PCPPI to participate in other programs of the company that aim to empower community stakeholders including an annual tree planting program called CommuniTrees and MPower, a corporate social responsibility initiative focused on promoting quality education.

Meralco affiliate retail electricity supplier Vantage Energy Solutions and Management Inc. also signed an agreement with PCPPI last month to supply power to the latter’s five manufacturing facilities in Luzon and the Visayas.

“This collaboration extends past the framework of our contract. Together with PCPPI, we are committed to driving innovation and advancing sustainable practices that enrich the communities we serve,” Vantage Energy president Ernesto Cabral said earlier.

PCPPI president and chief executive Phyo Phyu Noe said the partnership with Vantage Energy would enable future-proofed and greener operations for the food and beverage giant’s manufacturing plants.

“This strategic engagement with Vantage Energy is part of PCPPI’s transformation. We are committed to ensuring energy efficiency across our locations, as this brings value to our overall operations and to the communities we serve,” Noe said.

Vantage Energy and PCPPI agreed to create a positive impact by providing employment to Filipinos, empower communities and promote environmental sustainability through responsible business operations.
