DAR promotes 61 officials in Mimaropa

Agrarian Reform Secretary Bernie Cruz is challenging the agency’s 61 newly promoted Mimaropa personnel to help in the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.

The newly appointed and promoted employees of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the region recently took an oath of office before Cruz through a physical and virtual ceremony to help the department in its intensified implementation of CARP.

DAR has loads of programs and projects to carry out to uplift the economic lives of agrarian reform beneficiaries, and that the newly promoted personnel are expected to give their best in serving them, he said.

“I challenge you to double your efforts in delivering the social justice our farmers deserve. We need to provide lands to the landless farmers, support services to make them self-reliant, and help them in their agrarian legal issues and concerns,” he added.

Apart from the oath-taking ceremony, the DAR-Mimaropa region also held its soft launching of a coffee table book entitled “Lawyers to the Benepisyaryo.”

Lawyers to the Benepisyaryo is based on the Agrarian Justice on Wheels (ARJOW) program of the DAR, a free legal assistance program where the DAR’s lawyers reach out to the farmer-beneficiaries and farmworkers in the countryside who require legal counseling.
