Police and anti-narcotics agents arrested a drug suspect and seized P102 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City early Monday.
Brig. Gen. Remus Medina, chief of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), said suspect Randy Rafael, 42, resident of Pasay City, was arrested along Baesa Road, Barangay 161 around 12:30 a.m. Monday.
He yielded one Chinese tea pack containing 1 kilo of shabu, the subject of sale.
Also confiscated from the operation were 14 other Chinese tea packs containing more or less 1 kilo each of shabu estimated to be worth P102 million, two genuine P1,000 bills used as buy-bust money, boodle money, and a mobile phone.
Medina said the arrested suspect is working for a Chinese personality, identified only as alias “Lim” whom authorities described as a distributor of illegal drugs in the National Capital Region and nearby areas.
The suspect will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 while the pieces of evidence seized in the operation were brought to PDEG in Camp Crame for documentation.
