Expect Gilas Pilipinas’ main man Dwight Ramos to put on a show this weekend.
The 23-year-old Ramos is now on his second day of practice with the Toyama Grouses, getting ready for his first two games in the Japan B.League this weekend.
“I’m finally out of quarantine. I’m really excited to join the team and practice with them, meet everybody for the first time, and just be part of the team again,” said Ramos after getting out of 14-day quarantine on Tuesday.
The 6’4” Ramos, who saw action for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in 2019, will play for the Grouses when they meet Filipino Bobby Ray Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins on Saturday and Sunday at the Toyama City Gymnasium.
The Grouses have been winless after four games in the West District Division and after the first two weekends of the 2021-22 B.League season.
Meanwhile, Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars will take on the Kyoto Hannaryz in two scheduled games over the weekend in Kyoto City at 6:05 p.m.
Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix are at ninth with their 2-2 card. They clash with Hiroshima.
In the East District, Kobe Paras and the Niigata Airbex are in sixth place with their 2-2 slate.
So far, Ravena has averaged 13.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists and two steals.
The Lakestars share the West District leadership with their 3-1 win-loss record with the Shimane Sunsanoo, the Hiroshima Dragonfly and the Ryukyu Golden Kings.
