Davao de Oro Vice Gov. Maria Carmen Zamora, a three-term lawmaker and a staunch ally of re-electionist Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is making a comeback at the House of Representatives.
Zamora on Saturday filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) to run as representative of the 1st District of Davao de Oro under the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) party founded by Duterte.
Zamora had been the district representative during the 15th, 16th, and 17th Congress (2010-2019) and was the House Committee on Appropriations OIC at the early part of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s speakership until former Camarines Sur Rep. Rolando “Nonoy” Andaya, Jr. assumed the post.
She was the senior vice chairman of the appropriations panel.
“We will continue to deliver the needs of our constituents in this time of COVID-19 pandemic. Our leadership will continue to champion the interest of the people, that is our brand of service,” Zamora said.
Davao de Oro Gov. Tyron Uy and board members from his line-up also filed their respective COCs.
Davao de Oro 1st District Rep. Manuel “Way Kurat” Zamora, also a member of HNP, will run as mayor of the Municipality of Monkayo.
