The Ease of Doing Business and Anti-Red Tape Advisory Council will meet Monday to discuss steps to take following the announcement of the World Bank Group to discontinue the Doing Business report following internal data irregularities in the 2018 and 2020 results.
“Parts of our plans will be looking into a possible localized Doing Business Ranking for our cities and municipalities to nurture healthy competition and recognize good initiatives of local government units. Moreover, we aim to roll out the Report Card Survey by the end of this year to effectively measure the compliance of government agencies to the EODB law,” ARTA Secretary Jeremiah Belgica said in a statement.
The council is composed of a seven-person policy and advisory body, composed of Trade Secretary (chair), Anti-Red Tape Authority director-general (vice-chair), Department of Finance, Department of Information and Communication Technology and the Department of Interior and Local Government Secretaries, and two representatives from the private sector as members.
