Singer Darren Espanto on Monday released “Tama Na,” featuring Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara. The music video topped the iTunes Music Video chart in less than 24 hours of its release.
The song, which is a collaboration between Darren and singer-songwriter Zack Tabudlo, shows a different side of the 20-year-old artist as a mature singer.
“Last year, Zack told me how he became part of the MCA family and we thought that finally, this would be our chance to work together,” he shared.
The music video was filmed in a house, featuring Kyline Alcantara, who plays Darren’s love interest. It follows a distraught Darren singing and dancing as he reminisces about his past relationship.
“Tama Na” is a track about coming to terms with a toxic relationship.
“It’s a sound that people haven’t heard from me before and it’s also a genre I’ve always wanted to try,” Darren said.
The track, which he first performed at his online concert “Home Run" on June 19, will be part of his upcoming album.
