Fernando "Dhunoy’’ Raquel made his move on the final stretch of the 1,800-meter race as Boss Emong galloped past Sky Shot and sped ahead of the pack before holding off a ferocious chase by Super Swerte near the line.
The grey galloper owned by Edward Vincent Diokno grabbed victory by a head and captured the P1.2M champion’s purse of the race held in honor of the late Philracom Chairman Andrew Sanchez.
Super Swerte, the pre-race favorite, took second-place honors and the P400,000 reward followed by Pangalusian Island (P200,000).
Heneral Kalentong settled for fourth place worth P100,000 while Shanghai Grey (P60,000) and Son Also Rises (P40,000) arrived fifth and sixth, respectively.
The daughter of the former Chairman Sanchez was present to receive the plaque of recognition in honor of his late father Chairman Sanchez.
“I’m very honored and happy for this plaque of recognition as well as my mom and my siblings. The races continue to be exciting. Thank you Philracom,” said Miren Sanchez.
