Nigerian, Pinay nabbed with P2.7m worth of shabu

Police arrested a Nigerian national and his Filipina companion and seized more than P2.7 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation early Thursday morning in Makati City.

Southern Police District director Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspects as Lucky Chinwe Ugboaga alias “Negro”, and Rowena Brojas Reyes alias “Buntis”, both residents of Dasmariñas, Cavite.

Recovered from the suspects were 400 grams of shabu worth P2.72 million, a Toyota Altis, two mobile phones, and the money used in the entrapment operation.

Macaraeg said operatives of the Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit under the supervision of P/Col. Harold Depositar conducted the police operation along Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay West Rembo around 1:30 a.m.

The suspects are now detained at the Makati City detention facility and will be charged with violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Macaraeg commended his men for another accomplishment, arresting big-time drug dealers operating in southern Metro Manila.

“The teamwork, commitment and strong sense of determination demonstrated by police operatives from the different drug enforcement units of the Southern Metro in pursuit of criminals and curbing the drug menace merit distinction worthy of emulation. Congratulations for another job well done,” said Macaraeg.

Earlier this week, police also busted two big-time drug dealers and seized more than P1.3 million worth of shabu in Muntinlupa City.

The suspects — Roxane Alcaide, 28, and Joana Leoncio, 18, both residents of Barangay San Vicente, San Pedro Laguna — were arrested in the entrapment operation at a mall in Barangay Alabang.
