The facility, according to Mayor Imelda Rubiano, will also feature a drive-through section to accommodate more people to get the immunization against the coronavirus disease.

Rubiano said because of the big size of the vaccination center, they might need the help of medical workers from local government units to maximize the use of the venue.

“That’s why we’re asking our neighbor cities to lend us their health personnel so that we can vaccinate more people every day,” she said.

The city chief executive said the vaccination center will be opened for everybody even nonresidents of Pasay.

“Anyone can get vaccinated here so that we can help the government in its campaign to inoculate at least 70 percent of our countrymen and meet what we called the herd community,” she added.

The facility is designed to have sufficient space and is fitted with an air-conditioning system and television sets to ensure the public’s convenience while waiting for their turn to be vaccinated.

Rubiano said the city government has already vaccinated the first batch of medical health workers numbering around 42, 266. She added they also started inoculating the elderly and people with comorbidities.

For the meantime, the vaccination process was temporarily stopped pending the arrival of the new shipment of vaccines.

Mayor Rubiano assured the local government will immediately resume the vaccination once the vaccine supply arrives anytime next week.
