Ternate, Cavite—Due to the continuous receipt of reports to the office of the provincial chief executive that the Kaybiang Tunnel in Ternate-Nasugbu road causes traffic, garbage, and chaos among the tourists, the area has been declared a no-tourism zone.
Lots of cyclists, motorcycle riders and vehicles park on the side to take pictures with the tunnel in the background and others take a snack in the vicinity that causes heavy traffic in the area from the entrance to exit going to Sta. Mercedez, Maragondon.
As a result, Cavite Governor Juanito Victor ‘Jonvic’ Remulla Jr. issued an order starting on Friday, March 19, 2021, the area of Kaybiang Tunnel is strictly a No Tourism Zone.
As per Remulla’s order, No Parking in the vicinity of the Kaybiang Tunnel, No Bike and Motorcycle Riders using the tunnel for leisure purposes. No Eating in the vicinity of the tunnel, No Selfies in the vicinity of the tunnel, No Loitering in the vicinity of the tunnel and honking while passing through the tunnel is now prohibited.
“Responsibilidad ko na siguraduhin na maayos ang counterflow ng traffic at maintenance ng law and order sa ating mga lansangan.”
REmulla said in his social media page post, Wednesday morning, March 17, 2021.
According to Remulla, there will be checkpoints in Tanza, Naic, Maragondon and Ternate in strategic areas of the locality.
