Licensing office open even on weekends

An official in Quezon City on Wednesday announced the daily opening, including weekends, of the Business Permits and Licensing Department starting March 21 until April 25 to accommodate all businesses that will claim the original copy of their business permits.

Margie Santos, BPLD chief, said the applicants who had a scheduled appointment to claim their business permits and clearances may drop by the releasing unit from Monday to Sunday anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

However, the department will be closed on April 4, Easter Sunday.

“This is extra service for all our city’s business owners. We want to make sure that there are no delays on our end especially with the issuance of their permits and clearances,” Santos said.

An applicant may also opt to request a digital copy of his or her permit via email at the [email protected].

The electronic or e-copy, she added, would be honored, and that it could be used while the authenticated or printed copy was yet to be released.

The move aims to speed up application processes from about 90,000 businesses registered in Quezon City.
