Lito “The Thunder Kid” Adiwang is open to a rematch against Japanese tormentor Hiroshi Minowa.
Adiwang said this after he claimed a second-round knockout win of Namiki Kawahara in ONE: UNBREAKABLE last Friday, in Singapore.
“Yes. I’m open to a rematch with Minowa. There’s a lot of good talents in my division, said the 27-year-old Adiwang.
Adiwang redeemed himself after coming off his first setback in six years.
But, if Minowa is not cool about a showdown, Adiwang said he can seek out better fights in the flyweight division.
“If Minowa doesn’t want to dance with me anymore, I’m ready for higher caliber fights and better challenges,” added Adiwang.
Last November, Adiwang took a split decision loss to Minowa following their encounter also in Singapore.
Adiwang was supposed to be going up against Mongolian bet Hexigetu, also known as the “Wolf of the Grasslands.”
But, Hexigetu wasn’t available.
Adiwang found a chance to win after getting an opening at the 2:02 mark of the second round.
That was when Kawahara moved forward with his head exposed.
The Filipino fighter made his move by landing a clean left hook on his Japanese foe’s chin for the knockout. Peter Atencio
