Camp Olivas, Pampanga—National police chief General Debold Sinas assured the public that the policeman who shot dead a mother and his son in Paniqui, Tarlac will be separated from the service within 30 days of the proceedings.
"Tinitiyak ko sa inyo na madidismiss si [PSMS Jonel] Nuezca sa loob lamang ng aming tinatawag na 30 days deadline," Sinas told reporters during a press conferencce held at the Police Regional office gymnasium.
Sinas, who led the inauguration of isolation facility exclusive for uniformed and non-uniformed personnel here, said he directed the National Capital Region Police Office and the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to fast track the summary dismissal proceedings of Nuezca's case.
"NCRPO and IAS are collaborating on Nuezca case to speed up the administrative proceedings within the 30 days timeframe," said Sinas adding that stringent measures would be formulated to prevent dismissed policemen from being reinstated in the service.
Sinas said he ordered the PNP-IAS to conduct a review of cases committed by policemen to determine their offenses and strictly implement the disciplinary mechanism for those applying for reinstatement.
The CPNP issued the directive in the wake of reports that some dismissed cops are easily reinstated in the service.
"Kailangan higpitan ang reinstatement process lalo na kapag ang pulis ay nahaharap sa kasong murder at illegal drugs," said Sinas while empahsizing the need of every policeman to undergo anger management.
Nuezca shot dead Sonya Gregorio and son Frank Anthony following a heated altercation over an improvised noise-making device on Dec 20.
He shot the victims at point blank range to the head as he pumped more bullets apparently due to his anger before fleeing.
The Gregorios were laid to their final resting place in a private memorial park in Paniqui town. Witnesses in the gruesome killings, both minors, are currently undergoing debriefing with the Social Welfare and Development Office of the local government there.
"Professional intervention is being administered to the witnesses by the local government unit," said Sinas.
He added that double murder case had been filed in court against Nuezca and investigators are waiting for the commitment order for Nuezca's transfer of detention.
