The COVID-19 pandemic has made people either focus on their skin care routine because they have more time, or disregard it due in part to lack of motivation thereby leading to a host of skin problems such as acne, dryness, and dullness.
Despite her busy schedule even during the quarantine period, Bela Padilla believes “It’s always a good thing to take care of yourself no matter the circumstance.”
“Maskne,” or breakouts that appear because of prolonged wear of facial masks, notwithstanding, the 29-year-old actress continues to look for ways to improve her skin while staying safe.
“Terrible ‘maskne’ was my biggest skin concern during quarantine and it can’t be an excuse to not wear your masks,” she related during a virtual press conference.
In her quest of “glass skin,” a term popularized by Korean beauty brands which refers to smooth, even-toned, and lustrous skin, Padilla, together with her business partners Dongwoo Kang and Wonyoung Ryu, brings to the Philippines a skincare brand from Seoul.
“I shot a film in Korea in February, and I loved every second of it. More than all of that, what I really noticed while I was there, while I was working with the Korean team and Korean actors, was how beautiful their skin was,” she shared.
“My co-stars had perfect skin. They had no pores. They looked amazing with or without makeup.”
Her admiration for her co-stars’ flawless skin and her love of K-drama and K-beauty have led her to Britory, a portmanteau or “bright” and “laboratory,” a skincare brand which Padilla said was from the same makers of CosRx and SkinFood.
For the brand’s Philippine launch, Padilla and her business partners introduce two products—Britory Like Snow Serum and Britory Like Snow Cream.
Snow Cream’s ingredients include Panthenol, Lactobacillus Ferment Filtrate, niacinamide, glutathione, ceramide, and Neem tree flower extract that soften and lighten the skin. The cream helps the skin achieve firmness, plumpness, and youthful glow.
Meanwhile, the Snow Serum harnesses the power of niacinamide, glutathione, arbutin, ceramide, Neem tree flower extract, walnut leaf extract, and Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate to make the skin “glow as snow.” The serum addresses common skin concerns like dark spots and wrinkles.
According to Padilla, who’s also the brand ambassador, the two aforementioned products are more than enough for daily skin care routine in starting one’s journey to achieving glass skin, just like your favorite oppa or unnie.
“I love how we only have two products in our line, but they’re more than enough because they’re packed with quality ingredients. The products’ formulas really help make my skin’ glow like snow,” she shared, adding that she tried the products on herself first to make sure they work on Filipino skin.
“By cutting down my skin care routine by more than half, it just saves more time because I don’t have that downtime, irritation, redness. It’s so much easier for me, it’s hassle-free,” she said.
Padilla also emphasized that these skincare products aim to make the skin brighten and glow, not whiten.
“We like to embrace all skin colors and these two products are compatible with all skin types and all skin colors,” she said.
Filipinos can now grab Britory Like Snow Serum (P899) and Britory Like Snow Cream (P990) on Shopee and Lazada.
