The previously recorded ONE: A NEW BREED II, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, will air to the public for the first time this Friday.
While there will be no Filipino athletes bannering the event, local fans will enjoy the card as ONE Championship once again gathered the world’s best strikers into one event.
Here are three of the top storylines.
1 – The Ultimate Proving Ground
When Pongsiri PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym battles Sean "Clubber" Clancy in the main event of the evening, it will be a match between two World Champions determined to prove a thing or two in ONE.
For Pongsiri, it’s about getting that elusive win in The Home Of Martial Arts after losing his first two matches in the featherweight division. Now that he’s in his natural weight class of bantamweight, the four-time Muay Thai World Champion is itching to show the world what he could do.
Clancy, on the other hand, is determined to prove that he belongs on the grandest stage for strikers in the place where Muay Thai was born after he relocated from Ireland to Thailand.
2 – Another Prodigy Makes Her Debut
Sixteen-year-old Supergirl Jaroonsak Muaythai will become the youngest athlete to debut in ONE.
She takes on Argentinian Milagros Lopez in a catch weight Muay Thai bout – and all eyes will be on the Thai.
Ironically, it will be the 24-year-old Lopez who enters the ring with less experience; Supergirl boasts a 37-5-1 record.
3 – Red-Hot Flyweights Collide
“The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Fahdi “The Gladiator” Khaled scored amazing performances during the “NO SURRENDER” series and now their paths are set to cross.
The pair will collide in a ONE Super Series kickboxing flyweight contest that could either solidify Superlek’s claim as the future number one flyweight in kickboxing or see Khaled enter his name into the top five.
Superlek scored a big win over top-ranked flyweight “The Angel Warrior” Panpayak Jitmuangnon at ONE: NO SURRENDER in July and Khaled dominated Huang Ding at ONE: NO SURRENDER II.
Watch the previously recorded ONE: A NEW BREED II this Friday, 11 September, on One Sports or One Sports+ at 8:30 p.m. Philippine Standard Time (PHT). Also, TV5 will air the event on a next-day delay at 11 p.m. PHT on Saturday, 12 September.
