The City Government of Imus has tapped Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank), through EON, in its drive towards e-government for the efficient and effective delivery of services to its constituents.
EON will first be used in the “Lingap Imuseño” program, where monetary assistance will be given to Imuseños to help them with the financial difficulties caused by the pandemic.
The EON account, with its EON VISA card, enables the citizens to withdraw money from any ATM nationwide or pay for purchases at accredited merchant establishments or online.
“This partnership with UnionBank is timely as we strive to get much-needed assistance in the hands of our constituents the soonest during these challenging times,” said Imus City Mayor Emmanuel Maliksi.
“We look forward to building on this initiative with EON to digitize our government and city for the benefit of our citizens, say, for example, using the EON VISA card for other programs like the BIDA KArd wherein we teach our youth how to save and live towards financial independence.”
“Coming off partnerships with other LGU’s, and now with the City Government of Imus, we continue to be inspired and committed in our purpose to tech up Pilipinas,” said Joyce Gonzales, EVP and Head of Retail Banking at UnionBank.
“The City Government of Imus can count on our full support in its initiatives towards e-government. Enabled by technology, we are fueled by passion to elevate lives and fulfill dreams,” said Paolo Baltao, SVP and Head of EON Banking.
