Clark Freeport – The Clark Human Resource Council (CHRC) has hosted a webinar on “Contact Tracing Protocols”, participated in by representatives of different locators here, to prepare companies in containing COVID-19 in the Freeport.
Done via Zoom video conferencing, the webinar – the sixth which the CHRC has hosted – was aimed at sharing a workplace contingency plan as a proactive response against the coronavirus.
Clark Development Corporation’s Health and Sanitation Division (CDC-HSD) Manager Dr. Ma. Clemencita Dobles, one of the resource speakers, discussed the importance of establishing a Health and Safety Committee in a company.
This includes designating safety officers and COVID marshal/s for the day to ensure compliance of safety protocols.
“Your health and safety committee may be small in composition but you could always assign certain people in that specific area to be marshals or patrollers. You don’t (necessarily) need to add people but you could include or engage them in monitoring,” she said during the recently held webinar.
According to Dobles, active and regular monitoring is vital among companies to keep track of each employees’ health status.
“We have to enhance this. You could always make improvements or changes in the policies to avoid transmission from happening in the workplace,” she added.
She also mentioned that some companies are already engaged in testing their own employees before allowing them to report for work.
During the webinar, Dobles reiterated guidelines for locators such as putting up isolation rooms or tents inside the workplace in case an employee starts to manifest flu-like symptoms.
The use of acrylic or plastic barriers for front line jobs and placing of floor markings in all areas to observe physical distancing at all times is also encouraged for additional protection of workers.
Dobles was also joined by Dr. Verona Guevarra, rural health physician of Angeles City health office, as a resource speaker in the said webinar.
The CHRC actively hosts a series of webinars to discuss different topics to help locators to transition into the new normal.
