Police arrested a suspected drug dealer caught in possession of more than P108,000 worth of shabu in a checkpoint Sunday night in Taguig City.
Arrested was Victoriano Amesola, 48, a native of Lanao del Norte and resident of 107 Tawi-Tawi Street, Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City.
Confiscated from the suspect were three plastic sachets containing 15.89 grams of shabu worth P108,052.00, a .45 caliber pistol with magazine and 10 pieces of ammunition, and a color green Mazda with registration plate number UHG 182.
Members of the Taguig City Police Sub-station 2 led by P/Capt. Joseph Inomis were conducting checkpoint operations at the corner of Rogan Street and Mindanao Avenue in Maharlika Village around 8:55 p.m. when they chanced upon Amesola in possession of a gun.
The authorities made a body search on Inomis and found the prohibited substance.
Inomis is now detained at Taguig Sub-station 2 detention center and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition).
