The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested a businesswoman for large-scale selling of adulterated alcohol in Manila on May 12, 2020.
NBI Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Eric B. Distor identified the suspect as Cherrygil del Rosario Arriola, who was arrested in an entrapment operation by the operatives of NBI-Special Action Unit (NBI-SAU).
Distor said that the case stemmed from an intelligence report on the alleged large-scale sale of adulterated alcohol from suspect’s shop, CreativeLab Cosmetic Products, located in Sampaloc, Manila.
According to the report, Arriola personally mixes ethyl alcohol and methanol to increase its volume. Methanol, by its nature, is highly corrosive and is a toxic substance not suitable for human consumption.
