Some are together, some are apart; the current situation—a health crisis sweeping the globe—has made it impossible to celebrate our mothers’ special day outside, while others can’t even physically spend it with them.
But while the usual Mother’s Day activities like dining out and quick getaway have to be put on hold, there are other ways we can safely celebrate this day, whether mom is close by or not.
Make an ‘appreciation post’
From today until May 9, Shangri-La Plaza invites sons and daughters to create appreciation posts about their moms. Post two photos side-by-side, one showing mom and her usual self at home and another with her all dressed and made up. Write a message of love and gratitude for everything she has done.
Tag @shangrilaplazaofficial, make the post public and add the hashtags #SlayAtHomeMom and #CelebrateMomAtShang. The three best posts will win exciting prizes from Beauty Buffet.
Winners will be announced on Mother’s Day, May 10, and prizes can be claimed at the Beauty Buffet store once the Shang re-opens.

Help mom fight anxiety
Globe myBusiness teams up with Invite Calm to host a free and interactive webinar to help mothers, especially mompreneurs fight anxiety and juggle the demands of motherhood at home in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
The webinar, scheduled on May 8 at 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., features noted “femmepreneur” and women “transformologist” Rezza Custodio-Soriano who founded Femme Power PH.
Femme Power PH enables and transforms women through seminars, workshops, and coaching sessions.
“Each year, we host a special activity for female business owners to celebrate Mother’s Day. The quarantine will not stop us from supporting small and medium enterprises, even if we have to shift our events to all-digital,” says Gaile Guevarra, director of regional marketing services at Globe myBusiness.
“Many have been voicing out their restlessness so we aim for this to delight them and ease their anxiety about the coronavirus.”
