Staff from the Alsons Power Group’s Mapalad Power Corporation (MPC) diesel power plant in Iligan City recently delivered several 25-kilogram sacks of rice for the residents of Barangay Dalipuga, the plant’s host community.
MPC likewise donated around 280 bottles of mineral water for frontline medical staff at the E&R Hospital in Iligan City. MPC also provided the E&R Hospital emergency room with mobile phone units for the collective use of emergency room frontliners.
The Alsons Power Group, Mindanao’s first private- sector power generator, is engaged in efforts to ensure that residents and front-liners in its host communities have access to food and other essentials as the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) remains in place over key areas of Mindanao.
The group currently has a portfolio of four power facilities located in Iligan City, Sarangani Province and Zamboanga City providing electricity to over eight million people in 14 cities and 11 provinces.
