Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya —Officials of the Nueva Vizcaya Task Force on COVID-19 said the number of Persons Under Investigation has decreased from last week’s 14 to only three.
Dr. Edwin Galapon, Provincial Health Officer and NVTFCOVID-19 head, said the 11 PUIs were already discharged from the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center(R2TMC) in this town after the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine(RITM) issued their laboratory test showing them negative of COVID-19 infection.
“This is good development considering the PUIs recent visit in other countries and in Quezon City. Let us always maintain our preventive health protocols such as social distancing, regular disinfection, avoid social gatherings and comply with home quarantine regulations,” he said.
Galapon said most of the PUIs released had a travel history in Hongkong while a few came from Denmark, Singapore and the United States.
The three remaining PUIs also visited Hongkong, Malaysia and Tatalon, Quezon City.
Galapon said the province is still free from the infection of the COVID-19 disease with its current tracking status.
He however encouraged Novo Vizcayanos to further observe and practice proper hygiene, get sufficient sleep, eat healthy foods and exercise to boost their immune system.
