Carl Tamayo fired 26 points for Nazareth School of National University Bulldogs in Game 2 as they retained their crown in the 82nd University Athletic Association of the Philippines Junior Basketball Tournament.
Gerry Abadiano chipped in 20 points for the powerhouse Bullpups in beating the Far Eastern University-Diliman Baby Tamaraws, 87-80, in a game played behind closed doors at the Filoil Flying V Centre last Tuesday.
Terrence Fortea added 12 points for the Bullpups, who pulled off a 16-0 sweep after taking an outright finals berth with their 14-game winning streak during the eliminations.
Lanky Kevin Quiambao added eight points as the Bullpups completed a 2-0 sweep of the best-of-three series.
This allowed the Bullpups to stretch their winning run to 27 games, and collect their fifth championship overall in the past nine years.
Meanwhile, the Board of Managing Directors of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines has decided unanimously to extend the suspension of all its events until Tuesday (March 17).
This to give every member of the community ample time to adjust to the current situation regarding the coronavirus or COVID-19.
The league is taking things day-by-day and will have another announcement regarding the future of UAAP Season 82 on Monday.

Earlier, the league suspended all its events from March 10 to 14.
Affected events so far are Collegiate Volleyball, Collegiate Football, Collegiate Softball, Collegiate Baseball, and High School Girls’ Basketball.
