GMAKF received a Gold Award under the Specialized Public Relations Programs—Advocacy Campaign category for the Rebuild Dreams in Marawi Campaign. The said project is in partnership with The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) to raise funds for upcycled chairs and tables made from 100 percent single-use plastic by encouraging its customers to donate by adding P1 or more on top of their in-store purchases.

The campaign was very successful that it reached five times the original target amount in two months, enabling GMAKF to serve thousands of public elementary schools in Marawi City.

Both earning Silver Awards were GMAKF’s Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran Project under the Specialized Public Relations Program—Disaster Communication; and the GMA Kapuso Foundation Annual Report 2018: Rebuild Dreams in Marawi under Public Relations Tools—Publications (External).

The Kapuso Tulay Para Sa Kaunlaran disaster response feature on 24 Oras’ “Kapusong Totoo” segment featured GMAKF’s first two concrete and steel hanging bridges and its Operation Bayanihan disaster relief distribution.

Meanwhile, the GMA Kapuso Foundation Annual Report 2018 is a compilation of GMAKF’s accomplishments for 2018 and highlights milestone projects such as the Rebuild Marawi Project—the building and rehabilitation of public elementary schools in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur. They were the first institution to build a school in the said area, one year after its liberation from the armed conflict.

The 55th Anvil Awards is conferred by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, which honors the most outstanding public relations programs, tools, and practitioners in the country.
