As the publishing component of Boss Vic Del Rosario’s music group, VMPI now handles Durias’ songs, specifically the string of hits he wrote for South Border including “Kahit Kailan,” “Habang Atin Ang Gabi,” “Love Of My Life,” “Sa ‘Yo,” and “Rainbow,” to name a few.

VMPI is now in-charge of all pertaining to these compositions and these include mechanical performance, synchronization and digital rights. Alex Camurungan, Publishing and Digital Media Manager of VMPI said, “we are now the administrator of Mr. Durias’ music. And it’s our job to take care of it.”

One of the tasks of the publishing outfit is to see to it that the music of South Border is perpetuated. Music Publishing Executive Liz Lorenzo said «that›s one of the allure of being with VMPI, these songs will be reinterpreted by other Viva artists. The idea of maybe having the likes of Sarah G.John Roa, and Janine Tenoso singing a song like “Langit Sa’yong Tabi,” or “Rainbow” is an exciting prospect.”

Camurungan also added that Durias is “also happy for the opportunity na ma-push namin yung mga kanta nya na malagay as theme song sa mga movies, TV and the like”

He also mentioned that Boss Vic Del Rosario also intends to utilize the music-arranging and producing skills of Durias on several upcoming projects not limited to publishing.

As for Jay Durias, he was succinct in his reaction regarding all this attention regarding his song catalog.

VMPI now has a growing roster of artist catalogs that includes the music of Rico Blanco, Wency Cornejo, Top Suzara, Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana, Nica “Tala” Del Rosario, Euwie Von Loria (This Band) and classics songs such as those of Willy Cruz, Snaffu Rigor and Rene, and Dennis Garcia of Hotdog, to mention some.
