Infrastructure spending of the national government rose 28.6 percent in November last year due to higher disbursements from the Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
The Department of Budget and Management said spending for infrastructure and other capital outlays amounted to P80.9 billion in November 2019 from 62.9 billion in the same period in 2018.
The improved infrastructure spending during the period was attributed to the payment for completed and partially completed infrastructure projects of the DPWH and the DOTr.
DBM said disbursements of the DOTr for payment of right-of-way acquisitions, and construction of buildings of the Land Transportation Offie and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, contributed to higher infrastructure spending for the period.
Some P1.4 billion was also released to Department of Agriculture for the implementation of the Agricultural Competitiveness Enhancement Fund and other facilities.
