The incident, in which police responded to a 911 emergency call on Tuesday afternoon, had already resulted in the arrest of Brown’s trainer, Glenn Holt.

The alleged victim told officers he was battered by Brown and Holt.

According to local television station WPLG, Holt’s arrest report said the charge stemmed from a disagreement between Brown and the driver of a moving company truck over payment for the release of Brown’s property.

Star wide-receiver Brown said he was finished with the NFL after his release by the New England Patriots in September amid an ongoing NFL investigation into rape and sexual assault allegations.

Brown had landed in New England just three days after he was cut by the Oakland Raiders.

Over the past month police had been called to his Florida house because of clashes between Brown and his girlfriend of eight years, the mother of three of his children.
