Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez welcomed Percival Cendaña of the Akbayan Citizens Action Party as the House of Representatives’ newest member on Wednesday night.
Cendaña took his oath just before the House adjourned for a month-long break after approving the proposed P6.352-trillion national budget for 2025.

His swearing-in followed the Commission on Elections’ proclamation of Akbayan as a winner in the 2022 party-list race.
Cendaña will serve until June 30, 2025, and previously held roles as a Commissioner of the National Youth Commission and president of Babaylanes, Inc.
