Vice President Sara Duterte, whose evasiveness in explaining her office’s expenses has been likened to “squid tactics,” may have been absent in today’s House hearing. Still, this did not stop lawmakers from enjoying squid and paella negra for lunch.
Rep. France Castro of party-list ACT-Teachers in particular posted a “pusit review” video, where she is seen enjoying her plate after the Office of the Vice President (OVP) budget deliberations.
“As you can see, we were boycotted. But the lunch today is delicious,” Castro said in Filipino.
“It includes squid and paella negra. Let’s taste it to see how delicious it is,” she added.
The irony was likely not lost on Castro, as House members in the previous OVP budget hearing voted against a motion to strike out mentions of the word “pusit.”
This was in reference to her comments on the Vice President’s aforementioned “squid tactics.”
