THE defending champion Bacoor City Lady Strikers-Metro Land Builders maintained their solo second place in the standings after sweeping the Caloocan AM Spikers in straight sets, 25-17, 25-13, 25-20, on Monday at the Paco Arena in Manila in the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA) Season 1.
Lady Altas rookie Jemalyn Menor was named the queen of the match, leading all scorers with 13 points, all from attacks.
Her fellow Altas spikers Winnie Bedaña contributed 8 points, including 2 solid blocks and 2 service aces, while Cyrille Alemeniana and Charisse Enrico added 8 and 7 points, respectively.
For AM Caloocan Air Force, Aiko Urdas tallied 10 points, Jocemer Tapic-Acain had 7 points, and Rhea Manalo contributed 5 points.
Coach Sandy Rieta’s team now holds a 4-1 win-loss record, trailing only Quezon Tangerine, which has a perfect 4-0 record.
