‘Do I look sick?’ Marcos dismisses rumors about his health

President Ferdinand Marcos. on Tuesday denied rumors that he had been hospitalized, calling the reports “fake news” and assuring the public that he is in good health.

“I’m here,” Mr. Marcos said, addressing speculation about his health.

“Do I look sick? That’s what we need to watch out for, those kinds of fake news unless it comes from a credible source,” he added.

The President said he received numerous concerned calls from friends asking about his condition.

He also confirmed that he was in Malacañang the previous day, where he had a busy schedule.

“Yes. I had a meeting in the morning, I had a command conference with some of our commanders, and I spent the rest of the day reading my briefs and doing paperwork,” he said. 

“I was just surprised when they said it was a medical emergency,” the President added.

He dismissed all kinds of rumors that circulated about his health, saying they are baseless.

“Well, it’s totally and completely fake. I do not even have a cold. I do not have anything wrong with me. I’m fine. Thank you for your concern,” he said.

President Marcos and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos were rumored to have been taken to the hospital for a medical emergency.

Earlier, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a social media post a supposed violent altercation happened between the presidential couple.
