Former ARTA head launches book on rebuilding nation

Former Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) director general Jeremiah Belgica launched his first book, “Rebuilding Foundations: Touching Base with What Makes a Nation Stand,” in a packed audience at the Kalayaan Hall of SM Aura Premier last Friday.

With a special lens on Biblical and historical worldview, Belgica, referred to by many as Pastorney My borne out of his profession as a lawyer and his calling as a pastor, said that he finds inspiration in the Filipino youth and the next generation of Filipinos for his maiden book.

“One of my biggest inspirations for writing the book is the Filipino youth for generations to come. My desire is for the young and even the not so young Filipinos of today and the future to be grounded, or at least informed, by these fundamental ideas, important historical facts, and timeless principles as they carry on with the challenges of nation building,” Belgica said.

Belgica said the book touches on timeless concepts and ideas that are easily overlooked and many times forgotten.

He added the lenses used in the topics discussed are rooted on history, reason, and faith which are necessary for the discovery of timeless principles that are unshakable foundations for building oneself and the community.

Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno, who penned the book’s foreword, said that “Rebuilding Foundation articulates Atty. Belgica’s viewpoints on several wedge issues that divide the people and government today.”

“The book of Atty. Belgica is certain to reopen the age-old debates on the validity of the Christian worldview on the political, economic, social, cultural, moral and spiritual problems of man and the world in which he lives,” Puno said.

In his keynote, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano said Belgica’s book is his way of sharing a God-given strategy.

“If tama ang foundation, hindi ka mauuga. But if you build on bad foundations, konting hangin lang babagsak. This is the reason why Atty. Belgica is talking about foundation, because it is strategic and because all of us needs to have a sound foundation,” Cayetano said.

Globally-renowned book author, Dr. Mark A. Beliles, founder & president of Global Transformation Network, International Networks of the Global Council of Nations said: “Atty. Belgica brings a wealth of knowledge from different sectors such as religion, law, social issues, everyday life, and family, and weaves together very useful information, insights, and solutions.”

“Rebuilding Foundations gives us a fascinating awareness of where the Philippines is, and where Mr. Belgica would like it to be, from a person of high ethical and moral standing,” according to Peter Leslie Wallace, chairman and president of The Wallace Business Forum

“This book could help seekers find a stronger basis for their actions and beliefs, as well as for the rights and liberties that they are enjoying,” Belgica said.
