Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Saturday deployed its assets for aerial assessments in the province of Rizal following the onslaught of Habagat and Typhoon Carina.
PAF Public Affairs Office Acting Chief Colonel Rifiel Santiago Sotto said that (PAF) along with Local Government Authorities (LGAs) of Rizal swiftly responded to the typhoon-affected areas in Rizal province, particularly in Brgy. Sta. Ines, Brgy. Tinucan, Brgy. Sto. Niño and Brgy. Laiban, Tanay Rizal by conducting a Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA)
Leveraging the capabilities of its Super Huey and S70i Blackhawk helicopters, the 505th Search and Rescue Group and the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing surveyed and assessed the damage and prioritized immediate needs.
PAF relief operations are in full swing, in collaboration with the Provincial Social Welfare and Development, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Rizal, the 2nd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, and local volunteers, distributing much-needed relief packs to residents in Tanay, Rizal.
“The PAF remains committed to supporting calamity response efforts by deploying all available air assets and personnel for humanitarian and disaster relief operations, dedicated to serving the Filipino people,” Sotto said.
