Two Bataan-based power companies have renewed their commitment to push community development and help in environmental protection through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs dubbed P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S.
The pledge was made during the joint 2024 Stakeholders’ Convergence of the GNPower Mariveles Energy Center and the GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. held recently in Balanga City.
With the theme “Empowering the Future, Redefining Progress,” the event gathered almost 200 stakeholders including government officials, community leaders, and representatives from partner organizations.
P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. which stands for Protect Marine Life, Reforest Land, Optimize Wealth from Waste, Generate Livelihood Skills and Income, Rehabilitate Social infrastructure, Elevate Educational Opportunities, Safeguard Quality Health Access, and Strengthen Disaster Resiliency, is the CSR program of GMEC and GNPD.
Nearly P80 million was earmarked, with 44 percent allocated for signing memorandums of agreement with various stakeholders in line with P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. initiatives.
