Thirty-six-year-old beauty queen Jennifer Colón emerged as the winner of the Miss Universe Puerto Rico finals, securing the coveted crown.
Edging out 27 other contestants, this is Colón’s second attempt to win the Miss Universe Puerto Rico title, having been the first runner-up to Mayra Matos in 2008. She also represented Puerto Rico at the Miss World pageant in 2009 but ended her pageant journey unplaced.
Being a mom of three, Colón made history as the first woman over the age of 28 and the first mother to carry the title Miss Puerto Rico Universe. Colón will be competing in Mexico, where the Miss Universe pageant will be held later this year, against the Philippines’ bet, Chelsea Manalo.
