In celebration of Dr. Jose Rizal’s 163rd birth anniversary, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) has announced that it will be hosting various activities to commemorate the hero.
At Fort Santiago in Manila, the NHCP and the Embassy of Brazil will be unveiling the “Mi Ultimo Adios” marker in Portuguese along with the Intramuros Administration.
The NHCP Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago will also open its “Ako Si Rizal: A Contemporary Interpretation From Telesforo Alayon Sucgang’s Portrait of Rizal” exhibition.
Commemorative activities will also take place in several NHCP museums in Intramuros, Calamba, Laguna, and Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte. Wreaths were also offered at the Rizal National Monument as a tribute to Rizal by the City Government of Manila, the NHCP, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the National Parks Development Committee.
