DPWH delivers two roads in Ilocos Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed two  farm-to-market road (FMR) projects in Ilocos Sur worth P24 million and designed to boost economic activities and agricultural productivity in the province.

One of the projects, constructed in Barangay Suso, Sta. Maria town, is a concrete road meant to give farmers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) an opportunity to market their products at lesser cost.

DPWH Regional Office I director Ronnel  Tan said the Suso road is a 669-lineal meter pathway with concrete pavement and stone masonry on both sides costing P9.5-million.

On the other, the newly-concreted 783-meter farm=-to-market road in Barangay Salvador II in Candon City now provides the local villagers a safer and smoother travel and transport of their agricultural products.

The P14.48-million Salvador II project connects to Barangay Bugnay—the farthest barangay in the city.
