THE Laguindingan Airport in Cagayan de Oro will temporarily halt its operations from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to conduct an Aircraft Emergency Full-Scale Exercise.
“In accordance with the Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued earlier this month, Laguindingan Airport will suspend its operations from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. today, May 28, to facilitate the Aircraft Emergency Full-Scale Exercise at the airport,” the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines stated in its advisory.
“Due to the early issuance of the NOTAM, airlines were promptly notified, allowing them ample time to adjust their flight schedules. With this advanced notice, only two flights will be affected during this period,” the agency added.
The exercise will feature various emergencies, including aircraft incidents, medical emergencies, and fire outbreaks. The scenarios will test the readiness of the airport’s emergency response teams and foster a seamless operation among various units.
Participants include local fire brigades, medical units, safety officers, and other emergency responders who worked hand in hand to ensure the exercise’s success.
