PLDT Home, the broadband unit of PLDT Inc., said Thursday it expects to keep its dominant market position in 2024 on continued growth of its fiber broadband services.
“We do want to see continuous growth in 2024 and we strongly believe our plan will ensure that this growth continues,” said PLDT senior vice president and head of consumer business – home Jeremiah de la Cruz.
PLDT Home accounted for more than half the industry’s fiber-only revenues, posting P53 billion in 2023, up 9 percent year-on-year.
The company also plans to grow its fiber footprint this year to reach more households and barangays as it pushes connectivity in greenfield areas.
The broadband unit of PLDT continues to dominate the market share, accounting for 50 percent of the total fiber-to-the-home industry customers with 3.2 million fiber customers as of end-2023.
PLDT Home has consistently increased its share of industry revenues since 2021 to 50.6 percent as of end-2023.
De la Cruz said PLDT Home drove 68 percent of the industry revenue growth in 2023. It reported an industry-leading average revenue per user (ARPU) of P1,493 which is 11 percent higher than in the previous year and registering better churn rates at 1.8 percent than the industry average of 2 percent.
