DigiPlus increases CSR budget to over P100M, focuses on four advocacies

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. has its eyes on giving back to local communities beyond just providing Filipinos with exciting avenues for responsible entertainment.

The company said plans are already in place to spend over P100 million for 2024 on various projects and initiatives that provide support to important causes through the BingoPlus Foundation.

This is close to a 500% increase in funds for corporate outreach projects compared to the previous year’s budget of P20 million.

DigiPlus Interactive Corp. president Andy Tsui shared BingoPlus Foundation’s mission and its increased budget for the coming year.

“BingoPlus Foundation is an aspect of our business we take great pride in,” said Tsui.

“Through the foundation, we provide concrete support to members of the community that have helped make us such a successful business to begin with. That’s why this year, we’re going the extra mile to strategically offer the best possible support and assistance to Filipinos via four pillars of advocacy,” he said.

The BingoPlus foundation has identified four pillars of advocacy its seeking to focus its efforts on in 2024.

The first, Bingo sa Edukasyon, is all about supporting the next generation of Filipino tech talents.

The company hopes to alleviate the financial strain for promising young students studying technology, so that they may focus on developing their skills and abilities instead.

The BingoPlus Foundation signed a three-year FutureSmart Scholarship Program worth P6 million with iACADEMY in 2023.

Ten scholars are now studying under this program, and with the larger budget in 2024, the foundation is hopeful they’ll be able to support even more young tech students.

Under this pillar, the foundation hopes to help young Filipinos find their place in the continuously growing tech industry worldwide. Investing in these young talents could help the Philippines have a key role in how tech continues to grow internationally in the future.

The second major pillar, Bingo sa Kalusugan, sees the foundation seek to provide accessible healthcare to Filipinos in need.

This would involve not only providing financial support to ailing Filipinos in need, but also potentially aiding local hospitals by boosting their facilities.

The third pillar of the foundation is Bingo sa Malasakit, which focuses on community safety and resilience. BingoPlus Foundation looks to address the most urgent and pressing needs of urban communities through this program.

This seeks to enrich the spirit of giving and togetherness that Filipinos are known for.

The foundation was able to reach out to over 7000 indigent families in 2023, through major events such as Paskong BingoPlus and the National Bingo Day Celebration.

The foundation provided noche buena packs to families from across Taguig, Manila, Malabon, Pasay, Valenzuela, Navotas, and Quezon City. With the increased budget for 2024, the foundation hopes to reach even more Filipinos through their efforts.

The final pillar is Bingo sa Online Safety which focuses primarily on responsible digitalization.

As more and more of our daily lives get attached to digital platforms, BingoPlus Foundation seeks to create safe online environments for all.

This forms part of the company’s commitment to responsible digital entertainment which they hope can be extended to all digital spaces.

“We strongly believe in the four pillars that the BingoPlus Foundation are focused on,” said Tsui. “We’re excited to see all their hard work and planning come to fruition in the coming year. We hope to help more and more people in 2024 and the years to come.”
